Highlights from the Collection

Fresnel Lens
A Fourth Order Fresnel lens from the Ashtabula Lighthouse, focusing light to guide ships safely on Lake Erie.

Engine Order Telegraph
A ship’s communication device used to relay speed and direction commands from the bridge to the engine room.

Diving Helmet
A copper and brass hard-hat diving helmet once used by deep-sea divers for underwater work and exploration.

Depth Charge
A WWII-era naval weapon designed to sink enemy submarines by exploding underwater at set depths.
